Interview with Francisco Rey (IECAH)

In this interview with Francisco Rey, Co-Director of IECAH (Institute of Studies on Conflict and Humanitarian Action), we analyze the report «Humanitarian action in 2024-25: a system in crisis, between cuts, search for legitimacy and the need for urgent reforms», prepared by IECAH and MSF.

How is the humanitarian system facing the storm that is now hitting it? We talked about the abrupt and irregular gap in humanitarian funding, how humanitarian organizations are rethinking their mandates and missions, hyper-prioritization, localization and how to contribute to it, and where principles such as neutrality remain or how they should be interpreted, among other things. A conversation designed for people who, like myself, work in international cooperation and humanitarian action and live with great uncertainty the changes that shake the sector.
