This page presents a brief analysis of the 50 most recent health job postings available on ReliefWeb in February 2026 under the category "Health". It is not a representative sample of all postings published or active at any given time, but it does offer a general overview of the types of positions advertised, the competencies and skills required, and the working conditions on offer. This page is updated periodically with recent data.

What types of positions are advertised and what experience do they require?

92% of published vacancies correspond to international NGOs, followed by 6% from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and 2% from intergovernmental organisations. MSF and the International Rescue Committee are the organisations with the most positions in this small sample (8 each).

It is important to note that neither United Nations agencies nor local NGOs regularly or systematically use this platform.

Only 11% of postings are aimed at specialist medical profiles (paediatricians, obstetrician-gynaecologists, psychiatrists, intensivists, and surgeons). 8% target nursing staff, and the remaining 4% epidemiology.

Organisations are looking for profiles with intermediate or advanced experience. 43% of postings require 3-4 years of experience, 33% require 5-9 years, and 16% require more than 10 years, as these are for senior strategic leadership positions or highly specialised consultancies. Only 4 postings target entry-level profiles (0-2 years of experience), which are essentially internships or volunteering positions with a stipend.
